The Bespoke Journey
Whether you are wishing to mark a special occasion, remodel inherited jewellery or simply treat yourself, the bespoke journey will allow us to work closely and bring special treasure’s to life.
Commissioning ~ The comissioning process allows you to explore and customise a piece of jewellery. Through this prosess special stones can be sourced and preferred metal ct chosen.
Remodelling Heirloom Jewellery ~ If you are looking to remodel unworn jewellery or heirloom stones, Ami can rework any ct of gold and stones into a one-of-a-kind ocean treasure.
The First Step ~ The first steps of commissioning can be done initially over zoom, email or a consultation at the studio in Fishguard, Pembrokeshire. At this first stage we can discuss design, remodelling own jewellery, stone sourcing, metal colours, budget and timescales.
Stone Sourcing ~ If you would like to incorporate stones into your ocean treasure there are a couple of options ~ you can choose from a selection of gems held at the studio, or if there is a specific gem you are searching for Ami is able to contact trusted stone dealers and source for you.
Wax Model ~ Once the initial design has been discussed and stones sourced, Ami is able to make up a wax model of the piece of jewellery. At this stage amendments can be made to the wax model before finally casting into metal. To proceed with a bespoke wax model, a £100 wax model deposit is needed which then is deducted from the final price of your commission, or non refundable if for any reason you decide to cancel your oder.
Payment ~ Once the wax model is confirmed in order to proceed to the next stage a payment of 50% or the full amount is needed to proceed.
Making time ~ For custom pieces the time scale is usually 8-10 weeks, although Ami will always do her best to accommodate tight deadlines
